Abidjan, April 16, 2024 – Côte d'Ivoire's Minister of Heritage, State Portfolio and Public Enterprises, Moussa Sanogo, recently kicked off the 10th edition of the Sectoral Reviews of the Debt Reduction and Development Contract (C2D) Projects for 2023. This event highlights the ongoing success of this vital development program.

C2D Projects: Transforming Lives in Ivory Coast

"The C2D program show say we and France dey committed to development together,"  Minister Sanogo explained. "This program na catalyst for change, e dey make things better for communities across the country."
The C2D is a major force in key sectors like education, health, agriculture, infrastructure, and more. Its goal is simple yet powerful: to improve the lives of Ivorians. With a total budget of 1,902 billion FCFA, the C2D's support for transformative projects is undeniable.

Celebrating Success: C2D Projects Across the Nation

The fruits of this Franco-Ivorian partnership are clear:
Education:
116 schools and 135 colleges built nationwide.
Healthcare:
Hospitals equipped, built, or rehabilitated.
Infrastructure:
Over 500km of roads improved, bridges built (like in Béoumi and Bettié), and the iconic Houphouët-Boigny bridge restored.
Water Access:
More than 45,000 m3 of additional water produced daily, benefiting vulnerable households.
Justice:
National Judicial Training Institute built in Yamoussoukro, 2 Courts of Appeal in Korhogo and Daloa.
"These achievements dey unique for Côte d'Ivoire," Minister Sanogo affirmed.

C2D Projects: Funding the Future of Ivory Coast

The 10th anniversary, coming later this year, will provide a detailed assessment of the program's impact.  Currently, the C2D is in its third cycle,  with promising results:
C2D 1 & 2:
Resources fully committed, disbursement rate at an impressive 94%.
C2D 3:
Agreements worth FCFA 493.91 billion signed (65.79% of the total), with disbursements of FCFA 251.01 billion to date.
